SovChat collects limited information necessary to operate the service, including session identifiers, chosen display names, text messages, device selections stored in your browser, and real-time voice or screen-sharing connection data required for communication features.

Voice, video, and screen-sharing transport is handled through LiveKit. SovChat does not present itself as an end-to-end encrypted archival platform, and users should avoid sharing sensitive material unless they understand the risks and trust the deployment environment.

Browser-side preferences such as remembered nickname and audio settings may be stored locally on your device. Server-side session and message records may be stored in the application database for service operation, presence, and message history.

SovChat does not sell personal data. Limited technical information may be processed by third-party infrastructure providers strictly to deliver core functionality such as connectivity, hosting, and media transport.

SovChat is currently provided through its operator-managed deployment. Hosting, retention, access controls, and infrastructure-level data handling are managed by the service operator and its infrastructure providers.
